What an Irony.. 

Group B first match it was India Vs Pakistan where Pakistan were beaten all hands down by India. And yet today, it is Pakistan who is in Final of CT-17. 

India hopefully makes it!!! 

2013 it was when India floored Brits in their own backyard... 2017 it is when Pakistan did with a pinch of salt. 

Forget, cricket loving nation not even the so – called nation who got separated from ‘Hindustan’ would have given itself a chance... 

Well, here they are in Finals!!! 

Let us leave aside emotions driven by brain; in heart of heart, we know it is a shocker.... and we have loved it. 

One tag which remains with them – UNPREDICTABLE!!

2004 it was when Madam Sonia was about to take office but, all thanks to Subramanian Swamy who’s letter to then President APJ Abdul Kalam saved the country from an Italian ruling...

Imagine one of the country’s finest scientist APJ as president and finest economist Manmohan Singh as PM where India could have reached... 

Well, it just turned out to be hogwash!!! APJ after his first term as President was removed under UPA but, not the PM. 

10 years of UPA and what the Nation saw; scams after scams...

Country was by and large sick with rich becoming more rich and poor being ignored... But, INC in general was ready to save Sonia who in turn ruled from behind the doors.  

Things changed after 2014, shift of power meant poor and middle class men and women of this beautiful nation once again carried a hope. 

Since then, BJP in general and Modi in specific has never put a foot wrong... No Scams, no corruption charges, an eye for an eye strategy with Pakistan has made them first contenders for 2019.  

If this wasn’t enough we now have Movie on Manmohan Singh coming up on Sanjay Baru’s book – An Accidental Prime Minister!!! 

Anupam Kher will play character of then PM, wonder who plays the character of Sonia and that good for nothing RaGa. 

What’s worst from INC point of view the release of movie is in 2018 just a year before GE – 2019. 

Don’t be surprised if this movie is exempted from entertainment tax. 

After all if you want to destroy someone, then don’t leave a single stone un-turned!!!  

Verdict overruled!!!

The final was shortened due to unpredictable weather in 2013 it was when India won Champions trophy against the host England. 

Fast forward come 2017 the cricketing nations are back for same trophy to the same part of the world. Well, not just champions trophy, come 2019 cricketing nations would yet again gather for WC. 

For the life of me I’m yet to understand why host such a very important tournament in England where weather is nothing short of an unpredictable woman.  

Couple of days back it was same venue. Aus Vs NZ and match was eventually washed out. 

But this was different... 

It stops the world. Imagine after all the hype India Vs Pak being washed out due to rains?  

Well, Rain God I guess was in full flow to spoil the party but, prayers from 1+ billion Indians overruled the plan!! 

India not only won the match but, has won it handsomely!!! 

The monkey is off the back, time for a kill!

Love for the Game is beyond P&L and Balance sheet.

The richest cricket governing body already were fuming over the share cut in revenue which was reduced by ICC. 

BCCI as usual tried their best to play a big boss and threatened to pull out of ICC Championship trophy. But, it was only after intervention of CoA – appointed by Supreme Court of India the team was announced.

Irony, that the few men controlling the most loved sport in India yet again showed more interest in their P&L and Balance sheet than the love for the sports itself. 

Nonetheless, the match is on and first one made in heaven. 

Come June 4 India will take on its arch rival Pakistan. On June 8it will be Sri Lanka and June 11, against SA. 

The first two teams from from each group will enter in Semi and the winner would play in finals at Lords.

2013 it was Dhoni, will 2017 be Kohli? 

The Game is on and so are the bets. Let the prayers begin!!!

Matter of one’s imagination…

Politicians come and politicians go but, never in a democratic society one could have seen what Nehru – Gandhi family has shown us. 
It was on fateful day 30^th Jan 1948, a guy from down town of Pune made up his mind to assassinate Gandhi. 

The reasons he gave for assassination were right in its day light but, since I have started taking interest in India’s cultural, demographic and its political past one thing has always left me speechless.  

Yes, for a country to run smoothly you need tall leaders and committed opposition with a sense of purpose. However, more than amused, it’s a shame to see the countries leaders of opposition running from pillar to post to protect Gandhis than the welfare of country and countrymen.

Sometimes, I wonder is Nehru – Gandhi dynasty been a curse to India!!?

Target of NVG was achieved but, was mission accomplished?  

Forget not, out of 70 years of independence it is this one family who has ruled for 47 years…

Nehru – 17years  

Indira – 15years

Rajiv – 5years and Madam Sonia indirectly 10years.   

Mahatma at his fag end had become a non-plus entity in Congress, his end of the story made Nehru strong.

Well, only if the great Nathuram Vinayak Godse instead of Gandhi had uprooted Nehru, would India’s politics, political history been different?   

Who knows it’s a matter of one’s imagination…

Hyderabad winning was utmost important for Rising… Had they lost today’s game against Lions (Gujarat) then as MS / Pune fan I for one would have wished for heavy rains in tomorrows match of Pune Vs Punjab… 

Well, now irrespective of tomorrow’s result 4teams in play-offs are fixed!!! 

The question is who are the first two? 

MI is sitting merrily on 18points… but, now the fight is between 3teams for 2^nd position!!! And for that KKR, SRH and RPS are in hunt!! 

What if today’s match between MI Vs KKR is whitewashed due to rain?

What if today’s match is whitewashed due to rain and tomorrow RPS wins ;-)  

End of the day it’s not about winning a game, its about winning a title.... First two has bigger chance.

This was a must win match for Rising Pune Supergiants. 

200 was on the cards but thanks to some disciplined bowling from Rising which made sure Lions didn’t cross 170 mark. 20 overs and all Pune needed were 162. 

At a half time everyone had thought of a cake walk but, in came a shocker and yet another and then yet another...

Before anyone knew it was 10 for 3 and in walked the most expensive buy of 2017. First he bowled decent 4 overs did superb saves in deep but, boy his effort with bat simply won the game for Raising. 

Ben Stokes 103 made sure Pune stayed on 4^th position and well in hunt for Playoffs.
